Village: Albești Ottoman name of village: Sarighiol Latitude: 43.8053361 Longitude: 028.4370306 Date: 19th century Description: At the southern limit of the village, over a brook and a stream, in a triangle in which the top is towards a hill and the base towards the brook. It is surrounded by a stone fence on the south and east side, mostly demolished. Most of the graves are marked with stones arranged on the heads and feet of the deceased. In the west, several tombs (7-8) are also covered with small stones. Some of the small stones may be from the collapsed wall. In the northeast there are 2-3 tombs with modern monuments. There is no arrangement of the graves in rows. Most of the tombstones are small and medium in size. In the middle of the cemetery is a mulberry tree with a slab-covered trunk. Nearby is an arrangement with shaped stones, possibly spoliation or even a Roman monument. Literature: - Link to map
